The Hakuba HG-503MX three section and HG-504MX four section carbon fiber tripods with 3-way pan heads are a prime example of traditional units that offer the combination of lightweight carbon fiber legs with the strength and lightness of a magnesium alloy chassis and pan head. The carbon fiber leg assemblies are made though a pultrusion process technology which produces extremely light weight and structurally rigid leg assemblies. The magnesium alloy chassis is two thirds the weight of aluminum and one quarter weight of steel. This is far superior to aluminum or steel in terms of vibration absorption, anticorrosion, dimensional stability and overall strength.
